Community Impact
Actively involved in several non-profits in west Charlotte on Board and leadership roles, Alan has contributed to 2xSalt from 2010 to 2017, and to Knothole Foundation and Carolinas Metro Reds baseball from 2017 to the present. He also supports and advises other ministries based in west Charlotte, including Freedom communities, Urban Promise, City Bridge, and A Better World. Alan co-leads two men’s small group/Bible studies at Charlotte Christian School and Napa on Providence. His personal convictions drive his involvement, believing that personal accountability and helping those in need are not mutually exclusive and that everyone has a role in promoting equity.
Personal Background
Alan grew up in a close-knit family in Cincinnati with his parents, older brother, and younger sister. He has been married to Domonique for 33 years, whom he met through a blind date arranged by her father. They have a daughter, Sydney, who is 27 years old and lives in Charlotte. Alan lived in Houston for 12 years before moving to Charlotte in 1993. He attended Purdue University, earning a BS in Industrial Management. Alan enjoys golf, music (particularly playing the guitar), major sports, travel, and reading a mix of non-fiction, Christian books, Bible commentaries, and Stephen King novels. He is a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Carolina Panthers. Despite being an introvert, Alan loves connecting with people and has a rich appreciation for diverse cultures due to his years living in Europe. He enjoys engaging in debates for fun and continues to have a strong interest in advising and consulting. Alan feels honored and a bit intimidated to be part of the high-talent group forming KSuite.
